To formally conclude the Climate Change Essay Competition and recognize the winners while fostering a community of climate advocates.

Topic
What measures can Enugu state take to address climate change while also promoting economic growth, and what role can the youth play in this process?

Overview
The Senior Adviser to the Governor of Enugu State on Climate Policy and Sustainable Development has initiated an essay competition aimed at the youth of Enugu State. This competition, which ran from July 1, 2024, to July 31, 2024, aligns with the climate awareness initiatives promoted by the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah.
The essay competition attracted more than 200 submissions from the youth of Enugu State, and the entries were carefully evaluated by a team of experts prior to the selection of the winners.
The primary goal of the essay competition is to raise awareness about the importance of climate education and consciousness, particularly among the youth in Enugu State. It seeks to explore the factors that contribute to climate change, identify strategies to mitigate its effects and highlight the role that the youth of Enugu State can play in achieving these objectives.

Location: Old Governors Lodage Along Abakaliki Road Enugu.

The award ceremony is organized in collaboration with the Office of the First Lady, and the Ministries of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture, as well as Environment and Climate Change
